2026 Travel Update: Travelers Are Still Going, But They Are Choosing More Carefully
The travel market is not collapsing.
It is getting more selective.
That is the big takeaway from TakeUp's 2026 travel demand report, which found that most US travelers are not backing away from leisure travel. In fact, 56% expect to travel about the same as they did in 2025, while 28% plan to travel more. Only 13% expect to travel less.
That is good news for places like Branson and Table Rock Lake.
But it is not a free pass.
The same report shows that travelers are becoming more intentional. They are watching prices, comparing options, and thinking harder about whether a trip feels worth the money. TakeUp found that 42% of travelers are more price sensitive about hotels and vacation rentals than they were in 2025. When lodging prices feel too high, most travelers do not cancel the trip. They adjust. Some choose a different property type. Some shorten the stay. Some change dates or destinations.
That tells us something important.
People still want to travel, but they want the trip to make sense.
For Victory Springs, that reinforces what we have believed from the beginning. The next generation of Branson short-term rental development cannot be built around generic lodging alone. Travelers are not just shopping for a bed. They are shopping for value, ease, memory, and a reason to choose one place over another.
That is especially true in drive-to vacation markets.
TakeUp's report found that 28% of travelers expect to drive more often because of economic conditions, compared to 13% who expect to fly more. That matters for Branson because this market has always been strong as a regional, drivable destination. Families can load the car, reach Table Rock Lake, and still feel like they got away without buying a stack of plane tickets.
Branson is well positioned for that kind of traveler.
So is Victory Springs.
The 2026 traveler is not necessarily looking for the cheapest trip. They are looking for a smarter one. They want a place where the lodging, the land, the water, the activities, and the planning process work together. They want fewer hassles. They want more of the trip to feel easy. They want the property itself to carry part of the experience.
This is why our pack once philosophy is so important.
If a family can arrive at Victory Springs, settle in, and have more of the vacation available around them, the stay becomes more valuable. They can still go to Silver Dollar City, see a show, go out to dinner, or explore Branson. But they do not have to leave the property every time they want the day to feel worthwhile.
That is the opportunity in 2026.
Travelers are still going.
They are still spending.
They are still prioritizing meaningful trips.
But they are choosing more carefully.
For Branson and Table Rock Lake, that means the strongest properties will be the ones that offer more than inventory. They will offer clarity, convenience, an outdoor experience, and a better reason to book.
That is the future Victory Springs is being built for.
